In Q1 2023, the Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa SA generated sales revenue of PLN 4.5 billion, which was 9.6% lower than in the same period last year. At the same time, JSW recorded a consolidated net profit of PLN 1.3 billion attributable to the shareholders of the parent company in Q1 2023, compared to PLN 1.8 billion in the same period last year.
Production results in the second quarter were also lower than in the corresponding period in the previous year. Although coking coal production amounted to about 2.70 million tonnes, up by about 1.4% compared to Q1 2023, it was down by about 1.0% compared to Q2 2022. On the other hand, thermal coal production amounted to approximately 0.62 million tonnes and was lower both compared to Q1 2023 (approximately 14.1%) and compared to Q2 2022 (approximately 8.6%).
